WEBSITE LAUNCHES MMS PHOTO UPLOADS

Friends Reunited has launched a new, free service which allows members to add photos to their profile directly from a mobile phone.

The upload facility, yet to be officially promoted to the website's 15 million members, already accounts for 3% of photo uploads to members' profiles everyday.

Jon Clark, Head of Friends Reunited said, "We're continually looking for ways to make it easier for members to add content to their profile pages. It's easy to forget that the task of transferring a photo from a camera phone to a website can be tricky and it seemed a shame that thousands of photos are kept hidden away in members' pockets."

Adding photos to a profile has become increasingly popular, with a 38% month on month increase in uploads.

The new service is part of an ongoing strategy by Friends Reunited to use mobile technology to enhance members' experience. Recently, the site also launched a membership upgrade by SMS facility which now accounts for 8% of first time subscriptions.
